Prime Minister Pashinyan meets with President of the Chamber of Representatives of Uruguay

YEREVAN, AUGUST 29, ARMENPRESS. President of the Chamber of Representatives of Uruguay, Ana Olivera, and Vice President Pedro Jisdonian have arrived in Armenia on an official visit.

On August 29, the two officials met with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The Prime Minister welcomed the visit and stressed that Armenia and Uruguay have warm and friendly relations, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a readout.

PM Pashinyan said that Uruguay always supported Armenia and the Armenian people during difficult times, and that Armenia attaches importance to the development and strengthening of cooperation in various areas.

The Premier said that the recent high level mutual visits are a testament to bilateral political will to enhance partnership. PM Pashinyan stressed the need for development of interparliamentary cooperation in international platforms, as well as deepening of ties in the economy, tourism, culture and sports.

President of the Chamber of Representatives of Uruguay Ana Olivera thanked for the warm reception and reiterated Uruguay’s solidarity and support to Armenia and the Armenian people. She attached importance to the development of friendly ties with Armenia and added that parliamentary cooperation is on a high level.

The meeting covered issues related to the Armenia-Uruguay cooperation agenda.

They also discussed the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty talks, the Armenian government’s housing support program for the forcibly displaced population of Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
