Azerbaijani Foreign Minister again makes false claims regarding Armenian Constitution

YEREVAN, AUGUST 28, ARMENPRESS. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has again falsely claimed that the Armenian Constitution contains “territorial claims” against Azerbaijan and Turkey.

Speaking at a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan, the Azerbaijani FM went on to complain about Armenia’s defense cooperation with international partners: Armenia has bought defensive armaments from India and France.

Bayramov also said that Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed upon a significant part of the peace treaty during ongoing talks.

Armenia has numerously responded to Azerbaijan’s claims about the Constitution. Yerevan underscored that changing or not changing the constitution is its purely domestic affair and that it doesn’t have territorial claims against any country, while acquiring arms is the right of any nation, and Armenia is doing so exclusively for defensive purposes and doesn’t have any plans to attack anyone.

Turkish FM Hakan Fidan told reporters that the meeting with Bayramov also focused on the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization. He said that Turkey and Azerbaijan will continue to make joint steps to “establish peace in the region.”
