US continues to be ‘deeply engaged’ on South Caucasus issues – State Department spox

YEREVAN, JULY 30, ARMENPRESS. The United States continues to be deeply engaged on South Caucasus issues, a State Department spokesperson has said.

“This is something that both the Secretary and Coordinator Bono continue to be deeply engaged on,” State Department Principal Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel said at a press briefing when asked on Armenia-Azerbaijan and US Senior Advisor for Caucasus Negotiations Louis Bono’s recent trip to the region. “I don’t have any specific updates…or a timeline to offer. This is something we’re going to continue to work towards.”

Asked to comment on the upcoming Armenia-Turkiye normalization talks, Patel said, “I don’t have anything to preview. Again, just saying that this is something that the Secretary has been focused on, and we’ll continue to be deeply engaged on it.”
