Russia and Ukraine swap 95 prisoners of war each in their latest exchange

YEREVAN, JULY 17, ARMENPRESS.  A total of 190 soldiers held captive in Ukraine and Russia have been released in a prisoner exchange mediated by the United Arab Emirates, officials from Kyiv and Moscow said Wednesday, France24 reported.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in June that Russia detained 6,465 Ukrainian POWs, and that 1,348 Russian soldiers were being held in Ukraine.

Russia and Ukraine have released a total of 190 captured soldiers in the latest prisoner exchange between the two sides, officials in Moscow and Kyiv announced Wednesday.

According to the source, thousands of POWs have been freed in more than 50 individual exchanges throughout the war
