YEREVAN, JULY 16, ARMENPRESS. Acting head of the Estonian Foreign Ministry Margus Tsahkna said that citizens of the country will have to pay an additional tax to the budget for defense needs.

According to Tsahkna, who is also the leader of the Eesti-200 parliamentary party, the Estonian government, against the backdrop of a budget deficit, is forced to make difficult decisions, including introducing new taxes that are burdensome for the population, Ria Novosti reported.

The tax is planned to be introduced on a temporary basis, probably until March 2027, when the next parliamentary elections will take place.
