Suren Papikyan unexpectedly visits the mountain training center of the Ministry of Defense

YEREVAN, JULY 16, ARMENPRESS. Today, Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan unexpectedly visited the Mountain Training Center of the Ministry of Defense. Papikyan has said in a post on Facebook page. The message reads as follows:

“I greeted the recruits lined up in the morning who, after completing the training phase, will go to pre-determined military units as junior commanders. I talked with conscripts about the specifics of military service, a number of programs implemented by the Ministry of Defense, and the importance of theoretical and practical classes at the training center.

Then I visited the training center and monitored the construction of the new headquarters building.

The building is scheduled to be put into operation by the end of the year. I also got acquainted with the arrangement of the tent city and rear support. I instructed the command of the training center to fully organize the conscript service.

Next, I visited one of the special-purpose military units, inspected the buildings, got acquainted with the infrastructure and the ongoing construction work.

The unit commander reported on the recruitment of personnel, the combat training program, and numerous ongoing exercises.

I discussed with the officers the issues of repairing and equipping the barracks, creating new educational substructures, as well as educational barrier zones.”
