Yerevan is ready to cooperate with the capital of Greece

YEREVAN, JULY 11, ARMENPRESS. Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Greece to Armenia Christos Sofianopoulos.

 According to the press release from the Municipality, Tigran Avinyan, welcoming the guest, touched upon partnership relations with Athens and emphasized that Yerevan is open and ready to implement various projects with the Greek capital.

The Mayor of Yerevan named the implementation of joint cultural programs as an important area of cooperation, emphasizing that Yerevan has been taking unprecedented initiatives in this area in recent years and has extensive experience.

 Expressing gratitude for the willingness to cooperate, Ambassador Christos Sofianopoulos noted that he would do everything possible within the framework of his powers to establish ties between the two capitals and implement practical plans.

In 1993, an agreement on cooperation and friendship was signed between Yerevan and Athens. The parties stated that the document needs to be updated.
