Armenian, Azerbaijani foreign ministers agree to continue working on peace treaty

YEREVAN, JULY 10, ARMENPRESS. During the meeting held in Washington, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov agreed to continue working towards a peace treaty.

“On 10 July 2024, under the initiative and with participation of the U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met in Washington, D.C. in the framework of their participation at the NATO 75th Anniversary Summit.

The parties noted the progress Armenia and Azerbaijan have achieved towards the conclusion of a historic agreement on peace and establishment of interstate relations, and agreed to continue the work.

The two parties have expressed their gratitude to the Secretary of State for hosting the meeting,” reads the statement issued by the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
