Armenian Foreign Minister, Georgian Prime Minister discuss regional security issues

YEREVAN, JULY 3, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

According to the readout issued by the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the parties discussed a number of issues of the rich bilateral agenda, expressing confidence that the development of strategic partnership will boost the deepening of interaction between the two countries in different directions.

Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that his first visit after the establishment of the strategic partnership and the conducted discussions testify to the intention to achieve new tangible results for the people of the two countries.

According to the source, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and the Prime Minister of Georgia discussed issues related to regional security.

Minister Mirzoyan presented Armenia's efforts toward regulating relations with neighboring countries. The Foreign Minister stressed the importance of ensuring progress in signing a peace treaty with Azerbaijan in the context of achieving long-term stability and peace in the South Caucasus.

Issues of cooperation and mutual support on multilateral platforms, as well as the unblocking of regional economic and transport communications, were also discussed.
