Training courses for Diaspora-Armenian teachers launched: 60 Diaspora-Armenian teachers are in Armenia

YEREVAN, JULY 1, ARMENPRESS. 60 Diaspora-Armenian teachers from 14 countries are in Armenia to participate in a training program for Armenian teachers of the Diaspora. The program launched on July 1 and will continue until July 26. The one-month training courses, organized by the Armenian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, encompass 7 programs.

Srbuhi Gevorgyan, Rector of the Armenian State Pedagogical University, welcomed the Diaspora teachers and highlighted that the program is being held for the 13th time. She emphasized that the courses are conducted by the best teaching staff of the Armenian State Pedagogical University.

“We have also invited our colleagues from the Diaspora and other educational institutions. I am sure that both the start and the process would be successful," Gevorgyan said.

Zhanna Andreasyan, Minister of Education and Culture, underscored the significance of such programs and highlighted that the training of Diaspora Armenian teachers is one of the Ministry's most successful ongoing initiatives.

"This is a platform for teachers from different educational institutions in the Diaspora, which provides an opportunity to discuss important issues for teachers from different countries in one place. They are extremely special, because we are talking about the education of our children in the Diaspora, which enables to develop their knowledge of the Armenian language, Armenian culture, and history. Surely, this knowledge ensures the vitality of the Diaspora and provides an opportunity for the development of prospective relations with the state," said Andreasyan.

Addressing the general policy implemented for the Diaspora in the field of education, Minister Zhanna Andreasyan underscored the grant program for the support of Diaspora educational centers, which Diaspora Armenian teachers can also benefit from.

The opening ceremony was followed by a question-and-answer session with the Minister of Education and Culture, Zhanna Andreasyan.

Teachers who will successfully complete the courses will receive certificates from the Ministry.
