Eleven Italian lawmakers suspended from chamber after brawl in Parliament

YEREVAN, JUNE 14, ARMENPRESS. A wild brawl involving dozens of MPs has erupted in Italian parliament after a fight broke out on the floor of the chamber, leaving one lawmaker in a wheelchair, Sky News reports.

A total of eleven men were sanctioned for participating in the brawl on Wednesday at the Chamber of Deputies, after tensions flared over a law proposing differentiated regional autonomy, the report adds. The ban will last from 2 to 15 days.
The melee occurred when Five State Movement politician Leonardo Donno thrust an Italian flag in the face of the Minister of Regional and Autonomous Affairs, Roberto Calderoli.

After this, several deputies from Lega and another right-wing party, Brothers of Italy, jumped on top of Donno, who had to be taken out of the Chamber in a wheelchair.
