France to provide €7 million to meet the needs of forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS. The French government will provide €7 million to meet the social needs of the forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh, the French Ambassador to Armenia Olivier Decottignies announced on September 26.

The French Ambassador met with the Armenian Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan.

Mkrtchyan presented the government’s actions for supporting the forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh and highly appreciated the role of France in supporting Armenia at difficult times.

The French Ambassador “emphasized the importance of overcoming the humanitarian crisis and stated that the government of France, in collaboration with partner organizations, has decided to provide 7 million euros with the purpose of overcoming the social needs of the forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh,” the ministry said in a readout.

France has also announced sending emergency medical equipment to Armenia to help treat the victims of the September 25 fuel depot blast in Nagorno-Karabakh.
