YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 19, ARMENPRESS. The EU continues to monitor the situation for the benefit of peace and well-being of all people in the region, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Vassilis Maragos has said.

Asked to comment on Azerbaijan not allowing the full reopening of Lachin Corridor after the first humanitarian shipments were delivered to Nagorno-Karabakh through Lachin Corridor and the Aghdam route, Ambassador Maragos attached importance to the agreement.

“I think it is very important that we have had this deal for the humanitarian support to the population. This is something that the European Union has supported. You have seen the statement by Mr. Peter Stano. We continue to monitor the situation for benefit of peace in this region and well-being of all the people and populations in the region,” Ambassador Maragos told ARMENPRESS.

Maragos said he supports the relations between Armenia and the EU and the Armenian government’s reforms.

“I am here in order to support the relations between the EU and Armenia, and to support all the efforts of the Armenian government when it comes to discussions, to the reforms and making sure that there is peace in the whole region,” he said.
