BTA. Chamber of Architects: Urgent Reforms Needed to Ease Investment Process

YEREVAN, JULY 19, ARMENPRESS/BTA.Urgent reforms are needed to ease the investment process, said Chamber of Architects in Bulgaria (CAB) Board Chair Vladimir Milkov on Thursday at the BTA National Press Club in Sofia. Milkov presented initiatives to reform the sector and optimize the construction and investment process. The aim is to reduce the administrative burden, to be in line with good European practices and to improve the quality of the urban environment.

In the last 22 years, there have been more than 130 lobbist amendments, which aim to make the investment process as difficult as possible and to serve corrupt practices, pointed out Milkov. He argued that the architect in Bulgaria has been depersonalized as an artist and professional, he receives pennies for his work, which makes him disillusioned and disinterested. "The profession of architect is a regulated profession in the European Union, where he is an artist and is honoured. The new Bauhaus in Europe gives the architect a lot of power," he said.

According to him, the legislation should be changed in the direction of easing the investment process, a sharp reduction in the administrative burden and a new regulation of the engineering procedures and digitalization of the process.

"Next week, we will hold a roundtable with all parliamentary parties and we hope they will submit the new law to parliament for discussion," said Milkov.
