BTA. Sofia metro construction is on schedule, Mayor says

YEREVAN, JUNE 29, ARMENPRESS/BTA.The construction of the Sofia metro is progressing on schedule despite all the difficulties, said Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova, who inspected the extension of the third metro line under Vladimir Vazov Blvd. on Wednesday.

The three-kilometre stretch, from "Hadzhi Dimitar" to "Levski" neighbourhoods should be completed at the end of 2025, the Mayor announced. She expects to start the construction of the metro section through "Slatina" district as well. The latter is six kilometres of metro with six metro stations, Fandakova noted, adding that the metro is one of the ways to change Sofia.

"I hope that the next Mayor will continue the metro project because it is a huge effort," Fandakova said.
