BTA. Bulgaria Will Invest BGN 1.5 Bln in Transport Connectivity

YEREVAN, JUNE 21, ARMENPRESS/BTA.„In the next seven years Bulgaria will invest BGN 1.5 billion in policies, related to transport connectivity, which are important to ameliorating climate and introduction of green policies,” said Transport Minister Georgi Gvozdeykov on the third day of 2023 Green Forum which is taking place in Sofia, The forum is dedicated to the green transition in CEE countries and is organized by dir.bg and 3E News, and BTA is a media partner. The Minister participated in a panel on the future of transport, digitalization, green cities and food supplies.

He said that over BGN 600 million will be invested to improve rail infrastructure and a total of BGN 1 billion are available under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan „The aim is to improve infrastructure and modernize the entire rail infrastructure, so that we can achieve the speeds and destinations that we want,” added the Minister. According to him, the modernization of rail infrastructure should be completed by renewing the rolling stock which “will make ecological transport much more modern, accessible, effective and comfortable for the public”.

According to the Minister, serious investments should be considered in charging stations in electric cars.

„Green Bulgaria is one aim that should be achieved by all of us. This is the aim of our government and the Transport Ministry’s vision,” said Minister Georgi Gvozdeykov. He said that the vision of the Transport Ministry and the government is to improve ecological balance.
