EEU summit: ‘It’s going to be difficult to keep up with Armenia’, Putin on GDP growth

YEREVAN, MAY 25, ARMENPRESS. Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) members should seek to achieve the same high level of development.

Speaking at the EEU summit, Putin again mentioned Armenia’s high GDP growth, stressing that ‘it’s going to be difficult to keep up with Armenia.’

“We will jointly seek to achieve the same high level of development within the framework of our union. Of course, it’s going to be difficult to keep up with Armenia, today we already noted that the GDP there has grown over 12%. This is a very high and serious indicator,” Putin said.

President Putin called for ensuring 100% free movement of goods, services, finances and human capital within the EEU, in order for citizens of all five member states to travel, study, engage in business or work easily in each other’s countries.
