Armenian FM, NATO's Javier Colomina discuss South Caucasus security and stability

YEREVAN, MAY 23, ARMENPRESS. Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan held a meeting on May 23 with Javier Colomina, the NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy and NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia.

The foreign ministry said in a readout that Mirzoyan and Colomina discussed “Armenia-NATO cooperation issues.”

Issues related to “security and stability in South Caucasus” were also discussed.

FM Mirzoyan “presented the latest discussions in the negotiations process between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the Armenian side’s vision around the main issues”.

The Armenian FM emphasized the need for Azerbaijan to abandon its aggressive policy and provocative actions, which would be an important factor for progress in the talks.

The importance of practical steps by actors interested in regional stability was underscored.
