YEREVAN, MAY 10, ARMENPRESS. A late second half goal by Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne brought the Cityzens a Champions League semi-final first-leg 1:1 draw at Real Madrid in SantiagoBernabéuStadium on May 9.
Real Madrid’s Vinícius Júnior opened the score for the reigning champs in the 36th minute with a stunning kick from over 20 meters away with an assist by Eduardo Camavinga.
The royals began to dominate in the second half as City were attempting to breach their rivals’ tactics.
De Bruyne sent a thunderbolt from a long distance into Real Madrid’s net in the 67th minute, equalizing the score.
A shot by A. Tchouameni nearly gave the lead to Real again but it was blocked by Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson.
Manchester City will face Real Madrid again on May 17 at home. Any victory secured by City would take them only to their second Champions League final, against either Inter Milan or AC Milan – who in turn are set to clash later on May 10.
