Armenian athletes given hero’s welcome in Yerevan airport after European Artistic Gymnastic Championships

YEREVAN, APRIL 17, ARMENPRESS. Armenian athletes returning home from the 2023 European Artistic Gymnastic Championships in Antalya, Turkey were given a hero’s welcome at the Zvartnots International Airport.

Many fans, family members of the athletes and others gathered at the Yerevan airport.

Young athletes Hamlet Manukyan and Mamikov Khachatryan, who had impressive success in the Youth World Championships recently in Turkey – with Manukyan winning gold and Khachatryan taking silver – were also at the airport.

Team Armenia won three medals in the 2023 European Artistic Gymnastic Championships.

Reigning world champion Davtyan won gold in vault with an impressive 15,033 points in the final. He also took bronze in pommel horse.

Meanwhile, Vahagn Davtyan took silver in the rings.
