MPs Seyran Ohanyan, Armen Charchyan face indictments

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 13, ARMENPRESS. Members of Parliament from the Hayastan faction Seyran Ohanyan and Armen Charchyan are under criminal investigation, the Prosecutor-General Anna Vardapetyan’s advisor Lusine Martirosyan told ARMENPRESS.

Ohanyan is charged with 4 counts of abuse of power allegedly committed during his tenure as defense minister, while Charchyan is accused of issuing a fake medical examination conclusion when he was a member of a forensic medical commission in the case of Artur Sargsyan, known as the “bread bringer” in the 2016 Yerevan hostage crisis.

Ohanyan and Charchyan were stripped of their immunity from prosecution by parliament on February 8.
