Armenia sent 27 rescuers to Turkey and 29 to Syria to assist in search-and-rescue efforts

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 8, ARMENPRESS. Armenia has sent a total of 56 rescuers to the quake-hit Turkey and Syria to assist in the search-and-rescue operations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs told ARMENPRESS.

27 rescuers are dispatched to Turkey and 29 to Syria, the ministry said.

The Armenian government said on Tuesday that it is sending search-and-rescue teams to Turkey and Syria following the devastating earthquakeon February 6.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan discussed the assistance with Presidents Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey and Bashar al-Assad of Syria during separate phone conversations on Tuesday.

PM Pashinyan offered condolences to the Turkish and Syrian presidents.
