Eartquake death toll in Syria reaches 538

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 6, ARMENPRESS. The number of victims of the February 6 earthquake in Syria has reached 538, ARMENPRESS reports, the Ministry of Health of Syria informed, adding that the number of wounded is 1353.

The epicenter of the 7.7-magnitude earthquake in the early morning of February 6 was in Kahramanmaras province in the south of Turkey. According to Turkish seismologists, this earthquake can become one of the most destructive in the region in recent times. During the day, several more earthquakes of 7.7 magnitude, 4.2 magnitude and 4.3 magnitude were recorded in Turkey. Death toll in Turkey has reached 1541.
