YEREVAN, JANUARY 27, ARMENPRESS. A photo exhibition dedicated to the 79th anniversary of the lifting of the siege of Leningrad was opened at the Dom Moskvy (House of Moscow) Cultural-Business Center in Yerevan. The exhibition features materials from Sergey Larenkov’s The Invisible Blockaded Leningrad photo-project.
Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergei Kopyrkin also attended the ceremony. He attached importance to preserving the “baton of memory” and relaying it to the new generations.
“I’d like to remind that Armenia provided real help to residents of Leningrad, by taking in more than 300 children of the blockaded city. There is a memorial in Yerevan dedicated to that years, where we lay flowers every year. I once again thank Armenia and the Armenian people for everything they’ve done on the battlefield and in the rear,” the Russian ambassador said.
The exhibition is dedicated to the 79th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from Nazi blockade and the 80th anniversary of the lifting of the blockade.
