YEREVAN, DECEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS. Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered a ceasefire in Ukraine from 12:00 on January 6 to midnight on January 7, ARMENPRESS reports, the order was published on the Kremlin's official website.

"Taking into account the request of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, I instruct the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation to establish a ceasefire regime from 12:00 on January 6, 2023 to 00:00 on January 7, 2023 along the entire line of contact in Ukraine.

Based on the fact that a large number of Orthodox citizens live in the areas of hostilities, we call on the Ukrainian side to declare a ceasefire regime and give them the opportunity to participate in the candlelight vigil, as well as the liturgy on the day of Christ's birth," reads the order.
