Trade between Armenia and Belarus doubles

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS. Trade turnover between Armenia and Belarus doubled in 2022, the Ambassador of Belarus to Armenia Alexander Konyuk said at the 8th annual meeting of the Eurasian Expert Club.

“Economic relations between Belarus and Armenia are developing. In 2022, trade turnover grew two times, by 100%. And that’s because we are part of the Eurasian Economic Union zone. We are regularly exporting elevators of the Mogilyovliftmash plant to Armenia and are working in installing the new elevators in Yerevan, it is possible that this work will be done in Gyumri and other cities in the future as well. There is talk about launching a joint cooperative. Meaning, Armenian engineers will be trained at the Mogilyovliftmash plant, obtain qualification and render services in Armenia. Moreover, there’s also talk about manufacturing,” the ambassador said.

Ambassador Konyuk said food products from Belarus are also widely represented in Armenia.

He added that the Belkommashavto plant is cooperating with several provinces of Armenia and contracts on supply of special equipment are signed.

Ambassador Konyuk said a variety of Armenian products are exported to Belarus, such as brandy, dried fruits. Konyuk said the volumes must be increased.
