Presenting the data from the 12th edition of the rating system of higher education establishments in Bulgaria here on Monday, caretaker Education and Science Minister Sasho Penov said that the system is one of the best things happening in Bulgarian higher education in the last ten years. It contains the fullest and most accessible data on the state of universities for prospective students to orient themselves as well as for each higher education establishment to determine its place based on each indicator in the rating system, Penov added.
The rating system compares the performance of 52 higher education establishments within 52 professional fields based on a dozen of indicators that evaluate various aspects of the teaching process, scientific activity, teaching environment, social and administrative services, prestige and regional significance of the establishments, as well as the students’ realization on the job market.
Penov noted that the number of secondary education graduates who choose to study abroad is dropping, and the share of foreign students in Bulgaria is growing.
