Google, Facebook, Netflix and other non-resident online companies already pay VAT to Armenia’s state budget

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 8, ARMENPRESS. At the initiative of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, Google, Facebook, Netflix and other non-resident Internet giants, have started to pay a value added tax to the state budget from January 1 for providing online services to individuals, the SRC said.
According to the results of thethree quarters, 1 billion AMD VAT was declared, and 800 million drams have been paid as of this moment.
The effectiveness of the process is ensured by “e-VAT” trilingual system introduced by the Committee. More than 40 international companies have already been registered in the system.
“e-VAT” operates in 5 currencies.
It is also planned to introduce a card payment opportunity in the system.
The State Revenue Committee is regularly notifying the non-resident companies to follow the rules, otherwise fines will be applied on tax evaders.
