129,2 bln AMD foreign direct investments made in Armenia

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS. Foreign direct investments made in Armenia last year comprised 129,2 billion drams, of which around 1/3 (40,1 billion drams) belongs to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan said during the parliamentary standing committees’ debate of the 2023 state budget draft.

“In 2021 the volumes of new flows of foreign investments in the real economic sector of Armenia comprised 204,8 billion drams, of which the volume of net flows of foreign investments by the EAEU countries comprised 32,4 billion drams. In the same period the foreign direct investments comprised 129,2 billion drams, of which around 1/3 – 40,1 billion drams, was made by the EAEU states”, the minister said.

Coming to 2022, the volume of net flows of foreign investments in Armenia’s economy in the first half comprised 41 billion drams. In the same period the volume of foreign direct investments comprised 76,5 billion drams, of which 57,5 billion drams was invested by the EAEU states.

As for Armenia’s relations with the Eurasian Development Bank, the minister said that this year the Bank has signed several major deals in Armenia.
