Armenia’s economic activity index increases 13.9% in eight months

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS. Armenia’s economic activity index increased by 13.9% in January-August 2022 compared to January-August 2021, the Statistical Committee said.

Industrial production volume increased by 9.2% in January-August 2022 compared to the same period of the previous year.

Construction volume registered an increase of 14.2% compared to January-August 2022.

13.6% increase was registered in trade turnover.

The increase in the volume of services in January-August 2022 comprised 27.1%.

The consumer price index increased by 8.4%, the index of industrial production prices – by 5.1%. Electricity production volume increased by 16.6%.

56.2% increase was registered in the volumes of external trade turnover. Moreover, the export grew by 52.9% and the import by 58.2%.

The dram exchange rate against the US dollar in January-August comprised 453.27.
