Situation requires multinational presence, UN peacekeeping force would be best solution – Kirakosian

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 14, ARMENPRESS. The current situation requires a new, multinational presence in Armenia and the best option would be the deployment of UN peacekeeping forces, the Armenian Representative on International Legal Affairs Yeghishe Kirakosian said in an interview with Public Television regarding details of Armenia’s appeal to the ECHR following the large-scale Azerbaijani attack on Armenia.

“Nevertheless, it is difficult to imagine or predict this process today given the global political realities,” he added.

Kirakosyan said that Azerbaijan’s actions are a gross violation of the fundamental clauses of the UN Charter.
