Italian Members of Parliament express solidarity to Armenia, expect speedy return to peace

YEREVAN, JULY 13, ARMENPRESS. Italian lawmaker Massimiliano Capitanio (LEGA), the Chair of the Italy-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group, has expressed solidarity to Armenia amid the Azerbaijani military aggression.

“I express my solidarity to Armenia and the Armenian people. As the leader of the parliamentary friendship group I expect speedy return to peace, as well as complete manifestation of respect towards rights, history and identity,” he tweeted.

Another MP, Alessandro Pagano (LEGA), also tweeted a similar statement.

“I express my solidarity to Armenia, which has numerously assumed the role of the Christian world’s outpost. We are reminded of this every day by the millions of Armenians martyred at the hands of the Islamic Ottoman Empire. Armenia is once again in this role, this time under Azerbaijani attack,” Pagano tweeted.
