YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 25, ARMENPRESS. By the assistance of the Armenia Development Fund and “Air Arabia” airlines, representatives of the Philippine community of the United Arab Emirates visited Armenia on a three-day trip.

The guests went sightseeing in Yerevan, visited Garni, Geghard, Haghartsin, Lake Sevan and Tsakhkadzor.

The purpose of the visit was getting to know Armenia’s tourism opportunities, particularly winter tourism proposals.

The tourists left Armenia being impressed with the warm Armenian sun, fresh air and water, and especially the Tsakhkadzor snow.

The tourists included the pastor of the Christian Church of Al-Ain, Abu Dhabi, editor of “The Filipino Times”, executive director of the “Kabayan Weekly” – the largest and first newspaper of the UAE Philippine community, representatives of travel agencies, radio, a photographer, directors of magazines, hotels and airlines.

Another visit is planned in the first quarter of 2017, involving Arabic media reporters and bloggers.

And in springtime, Armenia will host bloggers with up to half a million followers in social media, specializing in tourism, cuisine, fashion and active tourism.

According to 2010 estimates, UAE has a population of 8.2 million, 10% being Filipino.
