US, Ukraine sign $1-bln guaranteed loan agreement

YEREVAN, JUNE 3, ARMENPRESS. The United States and Ukraine have signed an agreement ongranting Kiev a third tranche ofa guaranteed loan of $1 billion, the Ukrainian Finance Ministry’s press service said, reports Sputnik News.
“On June 3, there was a signing ofan agreement onproviding a credit guarantee inthe amount of $1 billion betweenthe governments ofUkraine and the United States…Thanks tothis agreement, Ukraine will receive additional possibilities tosupport and protect the more vulnerable strata ofUkrainians fromthe influence ofeconomic factors", the press service said.
On March 11, the IMF approved a four-year program offinancial aid toUkraine, which stipulates a $17.5 billion loan overthe next four years. The Ukrainian government has toimplement new economic policies forthe IMF todisburse the funds.
