YEREVAN, APRIL 2, ARMENPRESS. At the moment, Armenian side has 18 victims and about 35 wounds because of the provocative actions made by the Azerbaijani armed forces along the entire length of contact line with the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.  Due to timely and professional actions of Nagorno Karabakh Defense Army it was possible to take the situation under control and not only take the situation under control, but also cause the enemy considerable losses, Armenia President Serzh Sargsyan announced during the National Security Council meeting, “Armenpress” reports.

“These are the largest-scale operations after the maintenance of ceasefire in 1994, which Azerbaijani armed forces attempted and still attempt to carry out. Meanwhile, during the mentioned period, the opponent used air forces; all types of artillery and armored vehicles. The losses of the enemy’s air forces as well as infantry and armored vehicles are considerable,” Armenia President emphasized.

Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan briefed on the practical steps, taken in response to provocation by the enemy on April 1 and in the night of April 2, to prevent the aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan. Chief of General staff of Armenian Armed Forces Yuri Khachaturov and Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan delivered reports.
