Orphans to receive assistance for establishing business

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 15, ARMENPRESS.  60 orphans will receive assistance for establishing their own businesses.  “Armenpress” reports Head of EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Piotr Świtalski introduced the EU assistance program on children’s protection and welfare during the first awareness raising workshop of "Equal opportunities of personal development for orphaned children" program funded by the EU.

“I am honored to give a speech here. The European Union is proud for allocating resources for the implementation of this program. The program budget is $400 thousand. This program is being implemented for the development and protection of rights of the young generation”, the Ambassador said, adding that the children in Europe are viewed as the best hope for better future.

In the words of Świtalski, family relations are much closer in Armenia and children get more care, which is should be hailed. The beneficiaries of the program are orphan children aged 16-23, who are taken care of at orphanages, foster families or lead their own life.

6 month-long courses of business establishment and management, constitutional right, language and computer skills will be organized for the 60 beneficiaries of the program.

"Equal opportunities of personal development for orphaned children" program aims to provide orphan children aged 16-23 with necessary theoretical and practical skills which will foster shaping their professional orientation, as well as establishment of personal business.
