EAEU working groups discuss the issue of substitution of Turkish agricultural products with
products of member states

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 4, ARMENPRESS.  12 working groups have been set in the agricultural sector of the EAEU which are directed at the implementation of joint programs in the member states. “Armenpress” reports that the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia Armen Harutyunyan told the journalists about this.

“The 12 groups work in different directions. There are groups that are engaged in elaboration of a concept of general agricultural development. Our experts elaborate a development strategy together with the experts of other EAEU member states”, Harutyunyan mentioned.

Russia bans the imports of a number of goods from Turkey from January 1. Referring to this issue, the Deputy Minister mentioned that the EAEU working groups discuss that issue to assess the new market opportunities. After that the proposals of the working groups will be introduced to the private sectors of the member states.

“The policy of Republic of Armenia Ministry of Agriculture is not aimed at making market gains from conflicts between other states. Our strategy is to utilize the opportunities that arise due to elimination of obstacles within the framework of EAEU membership. Of course, geopolitical changes cause some temporary privileges which we can make gain of”, Harutyunyan said.
