Lavrov approves Hollande’s proposal to close Turkish-Syrian border

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 25, ARMENPRESS. RF Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that Moscow supports French President Francois Hollande’s proposal to close the Turkish-Syrian border from where Islamist jihadists enter Syria and is ready to take measures.
“Armenpress” reports that Sergey Lavrov informed about this in an interview with Russian and foreign journalists.
“I think it is a right proposal. I think President Hollande will detail on this issue tomorrow. We are ready to take serious actions to do that. It is often said that by closing that border, in fact, we will stop, prevent terrorism threat in Syria”, he said.
Sergey Lavrov stated that Russia does not want to fight against Turkey and Russia’s treatment towards the Turkish people has not changed.
“Some questions arise referring to the activities of the current Turkish authorities”, RF MFA head said.
