Putin, Merkel discuss Ukraine, fight against terrorism

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS. Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel have discussed the fight againstterrorism and the situation inUkraine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday. “Armenpress” reports the aforementioned referring to Sputnik International.

"The conversation withMerkel was quite specific. The fight againstterrorism, [the situation in] Ukraine were the issues that were specifically discussed," Peskov told reporters.

The two leaders also addressed the EU-Ukraine association deal, he added.

"Unfortunately, our contacts withthe Europeans and the Ukrainians are not giving the desired results, and the consequences ofthis agreement entering intoforce remain negative. Attempts todiscuss this problem have been unsuccessful. Moreover, a regression has been noted interms ofEuropean partners not wishing totake Russia's concerns intoaccount," Peskov said.
