Dutch PM: no question of granting concessions to Turkey

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 7, ARMENPRESS. Dutch PM Mark Rutte announced that there will no concessions to Turkey over the case of Turkey’s membership to EU for solving the refugees’ crisis.

As “Armenpress” reports, citing BBC truskish service, Ruttee announced in his speech in Netherlands Parliament that refugees’ crisis and EU enlargement issues are quite different and unrelated questions.

Rutte assured MPs that the negotiatons are continued with Ankara over accommodating refugees in Turkish camps and over not allowing them to cross Europe.

He said that EU is ready to provide financial support and continue negotiations at the negotiating table again in this context on ensuring ease of visas for Turkish citizens.

But Rutte emphasized that there was made no concessions regarding the criteria of Turkey’s membership to EU besides the visa facilitation and outside economic support.

Netherlands's “Freedom Party” believes that "Turkey cannot have a place in the EU” according to BBC.
