YEREVAN, OCTOBER 6, ARMENPRESS. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian, discussed Armenia-NATO partnership with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Anne Witkowsky. As “Armenpress” was informed from the Department of Press, Information and Public Relations of Republic of Armenia MFA, the Armenian Foreign Minister introduced the efforts of Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs for the settlement of Karabakh problem to the American official.

The Minister mentioned with satisfaction that Armenian-American partnership develops in different spheres, including in the sphere of defense and security, attaching great value to the continuous support by the US to strengthen Armenia’s peacekeeping capabilities.

Thanking for the reception, Anne Witkowsky said that the United States highly appreciates cooperation with Armenia, partnership in defense sphere and Armenia’s significant contribution in peacekeeping missions. The US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense expressed gratitude for Armenia President Serzh Sargsyan’s participation in the “Leaders' Summit on Peacekeeping” held in New York at the invitation of Barack Obama.

Anne Witkowsky highlighted holding the “International Forum for the Challenges of Peace Operations” in Yerevan which served as a good platform for discussing various issues connected with peacekeeping missions.
