Armed Forces of Armenia are fully capable to ensure the security of their country and territorial integrity. “Armenpress” reports that CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha told the journalists about this at “Baghramyan” military training center in answer to the question “Why does not the CSTO interfere in border situation?”

“I think that the Armenian Army possesses all the capabilities to ensure security, stability and territorial integrity of the country”, he said.

To the question and which point the CSTO would interfere, Bordyuzha said that the CSTO interferes when one of the member states is not capable to ensure its own security and stability in the country.

“It is also very important the factor that the state must personally apply to the CSTO for assistance. If a state submits such an application, the Collective Security Council discusses the issue of providing assistance to that country. It may be political, financial or military assistance. Everything depends on the decision of , the Collective Security Council, but the basic factor is that the state must personally submit an application for assistance”, he added.
