YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 29, ARMENPRESS. More than8,000 people, including civilians, have been killed inthe Ukrainian conflict sinceit was broke outin April 2014, the assistant UN secretary-general forhuman rights said Tuesday.
"As oftoday, atleast 8,050 people have been killed sincethe outbreak ofhostilities ineastern Ukraine inmid-April 2014. This includes Ukrainian armed forces, civilians and members ofthe armed groups, and is a conservative OHCHR estimate. We believe that actual figure could be considerably higher and we constantly work tofill inthe gaps incasualty records," as “Armenpress” reports, referring to Sputnik International, Ivan Simonovic said ata UN Human Rights Council Session inGeneva.
According toSimonovic, more than1.5 million people are estimated bythe Ukrainian authorities tobe internally displaced.
