YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 24, ARMENPRESS. The delegation led by Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan arrived in Xi'an (Shaanxi province) on September 23 to attend the opening of Euro Asia Economic Forum on September 24. As “Armenpress” was informed by the Information and Public Relations Department of the Government of the Republic of Armenia PM Abrahamyan had a meeting with Zhao Zhengyong, secretary of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Highly valuing PM Abrahamyan’s visit to China, Zhao Zhengyong noted that friendship between China and Armenia deepens and strengthens day by day. He emphasized that China and particularly Shaanxi Province were interested in deepening and expanding its relations with Armenia in various spheres also attaching importance to the development of cooperation between the regions.

The Prime Minister of Armenia thanked for the warm reception, noting that he was impressed both by the cultural heritage of Xi’an city and modern achievements.

According to PM, Armenia welcomed the concept of Economic Zones of China’s Silk Road presented by China President Xi Jinping in 2013 and purposeful activities are currently being carried out by Armenia in respect to the spheres to which it can contribute. He added that it was necessary to expand relations and contacts between the regions of the 2 countries emphasizing the importance of establishing friendly relations between Gyumri and Sevan and developing cooperation in fields of mutual interest.
