YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS. Expert in Azerbaijani studies Grigori Ayvazyan is convinced that Russia will response sharply if Azerbaijan unleashes a new war in the Southern Caucasus. According to him RF Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's visit to Baku testifies to it. Expert Ayvazyan said the aforementioned in his meeting with the journalists on September 5. “Lavrov was trying to call for calmness on the part of the Azerbaijani adventurous dictators”, “Armenpress” reports, the expert stated.

According to him in recent 2 decades Azerbaijan has constantly announced about starting a war which the Azerbaijani already treat with skepticism. “It has become a common thing in the Republic of Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, we are ready for war every day but the situation in Azerbaijan is different. During these years their officials have been talking about starting a war so much that their population does not believe Aliyev promises any longer and now in current tense situation on the border they are in real turmoil as they have stopped believing their own President that war will ever be launched.”, said Ayvazyan.
