Azerbaijani strong earthquake was felt in Armenia

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 4, ARMENPRESS. On September 4 at 08:49 (local time) Seismic Protection Survey of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations of Armenia registered 5.3 magnitude earthquake 41.08 ° north latitude and 47.42 ° eastern longitude (Azerbaijan). The hypocenter of the earthquake was on the depth of 30 kilometers.

“Armenpress” was informed from the Information and Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations of Armenia that the underground aftershock magnitude in the epicenter was 7-8 points 23 km south-east from Azerbaijan Sheki town.

The earthquake was felt in a number of inhabited Armenian areas such as Vanadzor (2-3 points), Stepanavan, Kapan (3 points), Ijevan, Noyemberyan (4 points), Choratan (3-4 points), Aygedzor (4-5 points) and Yerevan (3-4 points) as well in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
