Vazgen Manukyan and Artashes Geghamyan comment on results of meeting with President

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 1, ARMENPRESS. The representatives of”National Unity” faction are impressed by the meeting with the President of the Republic of Armenia in the framework of discussions on the Constitutional Reforms. The President of the faction, National Assembly RPA faction member Artashes Geghamyan noted in his conversation with “Armenpress” that the meeting with the President took place in a constructive atmosphere during which they received the answers to all the questions they were concerned with.

“We are very satisfied with our meeting with the President. You know, anybody can make judgments based on their level of education, experience, but when you hear arguments and answers that can satisfy both a scientist and a politician and a person who experienced many hardships in his life, you become convinced that something which is just will pave its way, something which is demanded for the country will be accepted sooner or later. We left the meeting being very impressed and our faction has a lot to do. We must explain the necessity, advantages of Constitutional Reforms in the plainest language possible; and what to expect if we say “yes” to the reforms in the referendum and then bring them to life step by step. ”, said Geghamyan.

On August 28 the President of the Republic of Armenia met with the members of the Public Council in the framework of discussions on the Constitutional Reforms.

Vazgen Manukyan, the President of the Public Council of Armenia, emphasized that practical issues were discussed at the meeting referring the Constitutional Reforms. He informed that the members of the Public Council presented the President with their remarks during the meeting.

“We are not a political party and that’s why our majority does not impose anything on the minority and on referendum day the Council members will vote according to their conscience. But there are issues that need to be clarified. During the meeting we addressed the latter to the Republic President and the members of the Specialized Commission on Constitutional Reforms.”, said Vazgen Manukyan.
