Armenian representative of New Wave Junior 2015 song contest highlights importance of good
performance

YEREVAN, JULY 28, ARMENPRESS. The Armenian representative at the song contest - Mary Kocharyan - is sure that victory is, indeed, important but the participation and good performance are more important.

Mary Kocharyan’s musical producer, Grigor Kyokchyan, informed Armenpress that the song, which had been chosen previously for the contest, could be changed on the spot.
Grigor Kyokchyan added:
“We have prepared a new song for Mary. Martin Mirzoyan and I are the authors of the song. It is a very positive song, we’d like to present that song but the name is not clear yet. We’d like Mary to perform Jessie J’s Mama Knows Best or Beyonce’s Love On Top as an international hit. If she performs these songs, she’ll for sure occupy a good place on the chart.”
The song contest will take place in Crimea on August 11-13.

The international song contest - New Wave Junior - is held every year. The first contest was in Jūrmala, 2002. New Wave  is an international contest for new stars, which usually lasts for six days: 3 contest days, 2 special event days and, at the end, the day where the contest's results are announced followed by an ending concert.
New Wave is a contest for young performers of popular music which was founded by a Russian composer Igor Krutoy and by Latvian pianist and composer Raimonds Pauls in 2002 and later enhanced by a very famous Russian superstar Alla Pugacheva. Although meant to popularize new stars from all over Europe, the countries of the former USSR and USA, many present and former superstars play an important, if not the most important, role in it.
