Anniversaries of Hovhannes Aivazovksy and the first printed Bible in Armenian to be 
included in UNESCO List

YEREVAN, 13 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. The anniversaries of Hovhannes Aivazovsky and the first printed Bible in Armenian will be included in the UNESCO List of Anniversaries, as the Department of Public Relations of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”. Assistant Director-General for External Relations and Public Information at UNESCO Éric Falt reports that the applications for the 200th birthday anniversary of Hovhannes Aivazovsky (Teodosia, 1817) and the 350th anniversary of the creation of the first printed Bible in Armenian (Amsterdam, 1666) prepared by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia have been approved to be included in the 2016-17 List of Anniversaries of UNESCO. The “200th Birthday Anniversary of Hovhannes Aivazovsky” category was presented along with the Russian Federation with the support of Italy. France and the Kingdom of the Netherlands supported the presentation of the “350th anniversary of the First Printed Bible in Armenian” category.

According to rules and regulations, the applications will be submitted by the procedure of final approval to the Executive Board and later to the General Summit for approval.
