Kazakhstan to ban imports of several Russian products
YEREVAN, 7 FEBRUARY, ARMENPRESS. Kazakhstan is discussing the possibility of banning imports of several Russian products that have become cheaper amid the devaluations in Russia and may pose a danger to Kazakhstan’s domestic market, as the Russian Kommersant reports, citing its sources from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and the Eurasian Economic Commission. The newspaper reports that Kazakhstan wants to set an embargo on Russian petrol products, cars, construction materials, meat products, eggs, macaroni, pastry, flour and juices.
According to “Armenpress”, Kazakhstan says the reason for this is because Russian products cost cheaper due to the nearly 47% devaluation of the Russian ruble and because Kazakh products can’t compete with cheap Russian products in the internal market.
